As 2012 comes to a close, I’d like to reflect on what a remarkable year it’s been for us here at MGM Grand and how fortunate we are to have you as our guests.

Following 11 months of incredible work, dedication and effort on behalf of all of our team members – we’re excited to begin the New Year with more than 4,200 redesigned rooms and suites, including our Stay Well collection which has been receiving terrific feedback from guests. 

While this year was certainly a milestone for us with the Grand Renovation, the opening of Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club, exciting concerts, star-studded award shows and several very intense bouts in the ring, 2013 is already shaping up to be even better!

In addition to several new entertainment offerings soon to be announced, we will celebrate the highly anticipated opening of Hakkasan, an innovative upscale dining/nightlife concept in collaboration with Angel Management Group, one of Las Vegas’ preeminent nightclub operators. Additionally, MGM Grand will get in on the madness in March as we will welcome the Pac-12 NCAA men’s basketball tournament featuring contested battles between some of the country’s top teams.

Committed to offering the hottest entertainment in the city, we’ve already announced 2013 dates for Lady Gaga, Bon Jovi, Fleetwood Mac and Justin Bieber. And that’s just the beginning…

As we look forward to the New Year, I wanted to take the time to thank you for your support throughout our Grand Renovation and thank you for considering us your destination of choice when you visit Las Vegas.

This week marks an incredible milestone for all of us here at MGM Grand as we celebrate the completion of our room and suite remodel.  

Throughout the past 12 months, our team has been working diligently to upgrade the MGM Grand hotel experience and today I can proudly say that all 4,212 rooms and suites in our main tower are redesigned and ready for you, our valued guests.

Our design and operations teams did a tremendous job embracing the dynamic personality of MGM Grand to create a series of vibrant and inviting accommodations that resonate with what we know our guests are seeking when they visitLas Vegas.

In addition to the 3,570 Grand King and Grand Queen guest rooms, we’re excited to introduce a distinct range of 642 suites including the two-story Skyline Terrace Suites –a truly one-of-a-kind find inLas Vegas. Featuring expansive outdoor terraces with stunning panoramic views, these suites are an exceptional place to entertain (and impress) your friends and colleagues.

Also new to MGM Grand is the STAY WELL collection – a first forLas Vegas. Incorporating more than a dozen health and wellness features, the 42 rooms and suites are designed for guests looking to take their wellness lifestyle “on the road.”  In listening to feedback from our guests, we recognize the increasing desire to maintain a healthful lifestyle even while traveling, whether for business or pleasure (or both!). We’re looking forward to bringing this concept to life at the end of October when we will welcome our first STAY WELL guests.

As excited as I already am about everything happening at MGM Grand it’s hard to focus on anything but the present. But with Hakkasan Las Vegas scheduled to open in spring 2013, it’s exhilarating to know there’s even more on the horizon. Hakkasan will be an upscale restaurant and lavish nightclub unlike any other in the world, delivering an unparalleled indoor/outdoor experience created by some of the most talented and forward-thinking innovators in fine dining, nightlife and entertainment. You’ll be hearing a lot more about this venue in the months to come so stay tuned!

And that’s not all… we have several other announcements and additions to share with you soon as MGM Grand becomes ‘grander’ and we look forward to welcoming you back to experience every bit of the excitement. 

The Grand Renovation at MGM Grand has been in full swing for months now and the energy continues to amplify as each new addition is unveiled!

Our largest undertaking, the room remodel, is more than halfway complete with approximately 2,400 newly designed rooms and suites available for reservation. Many of our guests have had the opportunity to experience one of our new guest rooms – and we even have a replica located on the casino floor – but our new luxury suites are truly taking the MGM Grand experience to a whole new level. I recently toured the newest of the suites, including the Marquee and Penthouse Suites, and found it hard to decide which was my favorite. They are all remarkable and will set a new bar for luxury accommodations in Las Vegas.

The Grand Renovation continues throughout the casino as well. The familiar corridors that lead to the finest dining, amenities and entertainment options in the city are undergoing a complete refresh with new signage and carpeting to ensure that you’re getting to your desired destination quickly, easily - and in style.

Speaking of entertainment, my good friend Brad Garrett recently opened his intimate 260-seat comedy club to rave reviews and sold-out crowds. Booking a revolving line-up of some of the best established and up and coming comedians around, Brad also makes appearances throughout the month – and you never know where else he might pop up around MGM Grand while he’s here so be on the lookout!

It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through 2012 which means the opening of Hakkasan is just around the corner. Build-out of the venue is fully underway and from what I’ve seen so far, it’s going to be unlike any other restaurant/nightlife experience in Las Vegas. Michelin-rated cuisine combined with the nightlife know-how of Angel Management Group, all located in a setting overlooking The Strip – Hakkasan will quickly become the hottest spot in Sin City.

We’re only a month into 2012 and it’s already shaping up to be an incredible year for all of us at MGM Grand. The Grand Renovation is in full swing and we’re excited to share with you everything on the horizon.

We recently announced that comedian and actor Brad Garrett will bring his comedy club to the hotel, opening March 29. I can tell you first hand that after spending quite a bit of time with Brad over the last few months, he’s not only a tremendous entertainer, but also a remarkable individual and we welcome him to the MGM Grand family. 

Also joining our entertainment lineup is Hakkasan, an innovative Cantonese restaurant incorporating nightlife elements from Angel Management Group, one of Las Vegas’ preeminent nightclub operators. Located where the iconic Studio 54 stood for 14 years, Hakkasan Las Vegas will introduce its Michelin-rated cuisine and international vibe.

In just a few weeks, we will welcome Sugar Factory and Blizz Frozen Yogurt to MGM Grand, and having an insatiable sweet tooth myself, I am sure to become a frequent customer of both.

Last but not least, at the core of our Grand Renovation are our stunning new guest rooms and suites. As of February 1, we have more than 1,218 rooms complete and the feedback we’ve been getting from guests has been remarkable. 

With so much going on throughout the hotel and casino this year, the energy here is electric as our team works tirelessly to maintain our position as The Strip’s ultimate entertainment destination. We look forward to welcoming you back to MGM Grand soon to share this evolution with you in person. We promise, it will be something to write home about (or post to Facebook, as the case may be…).

Today marks an exciting milestone as we embark on the next evolution of the MGM Grand hospitality and entertainment experience.

The remodel of more than 4,000 of our rooms and suites is now underway and with this website I’m pleased to share a glimpse into what you can expect to see in the coming weeks and months. I invite you to explore the site, discover our plans for our new rooms and feel free to share the information with friends, family and colleagues – we hope we’ve made it simple and convenient to do so.

While our room remodel is a tremendous endeavor, it is just the beginning. We have many more projects on the horizon, all of which will complement MGM Grand’s incredible collection of offerings and will give you new reasons to come see us again. Please check back to this site periodically as I’ll be sharing the details here first.

I’ve spent my entire career in the hospitality industry, and can honestly say that this past year at MGM Grand has been among the most rewarding for me. 

I continue to be amazed each day by our team members who exhibit an unmatched dedication to creating extraordinary experiences for our guests. Their commitment to giving their all is both inspiring and energizing, and I feel fortunate to be a part of this wonderful team.
